Based on the proposal of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union, the Prime MinisterAgreeThe year 2013 was designated as the Year of the Vietnamese Family, serving as the guiding theme for organizing activities aimed at building strong families.

The Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will preside over and coordinate with the People's Committees of provinces and centrally-administered cities, and relevant ministries and agencies to organize appropriate, specific and practical activities in celebration of the Year of the Vietnamese Family 2013.
At the same time, we must strengthen propaganda and mobilization efforts to encourage people to actively build prosperous, progressive, and happy families.
In recent times, family affairs have truly become a major national issue, always receiving attention and focus from the Party and the State, and family-related work has been increasingly implemented nationwide.
Throughout the country, many movements have been gradually promoted, such as: preventing and combating domestic violence, preventing the infiltration of social evils into families; developing community services; socializing family work; improving the capacity of staff working in family affairs; preventing and combating domestic violence while coordinating propaganda on preventing and combating domestic violence, and integrating family knowledge into schools...
According toDecreeAccording to the government's regulations on family affairs, the Vietnamese Family Day will be celebrated annually on June 28th.
This activity aims to highlight the responsibility of leaders at all levels, in all sectors, and in all social organizations and families to care for and build prosperous, equal, progressive, happy, and sustainable families; and to promptly encourage and reward organizations, individuals, and families with outstanding achievements in family work.
