In 2020, the Department of Transport has made efforts to focus on overcoming difficulties, advising the province, seeking the help of the Government, ministries, and central branches, mobilizing and attracting capital, directing strongly, coordinating with all levels and branches to deploy investment in the construction of a number of large, key projects, which are important to the socio-economic development of the province.

The total number of projects invested by the Department with allocated capital in 2020 is 20 projects, of which: 8 projects have been completed, 9 projects are being implemented and 3 projects are preparing for investment.

Capital allocated in 2020: 1,030,216 billion VND, up 59% over the same period in 2019. Estimated output in 2020 is 870 billion VND, up 71%.compared to the same period in 2019.

Estimated disbursement of capital plan by the end of 2020 is about 1,028,716 billion VND, reaching 100% (after adjusting and transferring capital plan), compared to the same period in 2019, an increase of 113%.

At the same time, the Department has actively coordinated in implementing the site clearance work for the Road Project.North-South ExpresswayIn the East, the section through Nghe An province has so far cleared 79.3/87.84km, reaching 90.3%. Actively coordinate with other investors to speed up the progress of projects invested by the Central Government.

The management of traffic infrastructure is strengthened with many synchronous solutions to improve the efficiency of exploiting the traffic infrastructure system. The Department continues to improve the quality of project appraisal.

Traffic inspections are regularly conducted in all areas of management, especially focusing on existing issues that are of public concern. The Department has directed the improvement of the quality of transportation activities, creating the most favorable conditions for transportation businesses to implement transportation activities to ensure safety and efficiency.

The Department of Transport continues to focus on directing the enhancement of the quality of driver training and testing, resolving issues quickly and conveniently for the people. In 2020, about 160 car tests and 420 motorcycle and motorbike tests will be conducted.

The inspection of road motor vehicles is carried out on modern equipment, basically meeting the inspection needs and ensuring the inspection quality. Administrative reform is effectively implemented in all areas.

At the conference, delegates focused on discussing the work of clearing traffic safety corridors, solutions to prevent encroachment and re-encroachment of corridors, sidewalks, and traffic works; enhancing the quality of traffic works appraisal; traffic maintenance and repair work, etc.

Implementing the tasks of 2021, the Department of Transport focuses on reviewing, adjusting, supplementing, and developing plans, projects, and proposals for transport development. Continue working with central ministries, branches, provincial People's Committees, relevant departments and branches on developing a medium-term public investment plan for the period 2021-2025 and arranging the 2021 public investment plan for transport projects.

The Department will focus on directing and coordinating with sectors and localities to implement key projects such as: starting construction of the North-South expressway, upgrading and expanding Vinh International Airport, dredging Cua Lo Port cluster, etc.

The Department will tighten the management of the traffic infrastructure system, strengthen maintenance and repair work, do a good job of flood and storm prevention, ensure smooth and convenient traffic...

At the same time, implement drastic solutions to create strong changes in state management of transportation. Improve the quality of training, testing and granting of driving licenses, and the quality of vehicles through inspection, meeting the increasing needs of society and creating convenience for the people.
