In 2023, what is the good day and time to worship Ong Cong and Ong Tao?

In the Vietnamese belief, Ong Cong and the 3 Kitchen Gods (or Kitchen Gods) are the gods who determine the fortune and happiness of the family. Based on that belief, the ceremony to send Ong Cong and Ong Tao to heaven is always carefully performed by families. Ong Cong and Ong Tao Tet holiday 2023 this year falls on Saturday, January 14, 2023 of the solar calendar.

This is the time when the gods will ride carp to heaven to report to the Jade Emperor about all the good and bad deeds of people during the year so that heaven can decide on merits and sins, and reward and punish fairly.

Good hours on December 18 include: Rat (11pm-1am); Tiger (3am-5am); Rabbit (5am-7am); Horse (11am-1pm); Goat (1pm-3pm); Rooster (5pm-7pm).

- December 20:

Good time frames on December 20 include: Suu (1am-3am); Thin (7am-9am); Ngo (11am-1pm); Mui (1pm-3pm); Tuat (7pm-9pm); Hoi (9pm-11pm).

In particular, the hour of Ngo on December 20 is the hour of Toc Hy, the best time to worship Tao Quan. If the homeowner performs the ceremony at this time, it will promise good luck throughout the new year, turning bad luck into good luck.

- December 23:

Good time frames on December 23 include: Thin (7am-9am), Ty (9am-11am), best before 12 noon.

In particular, on December 23, year of the Tiger, the hour of Thin is the hour of Toc Hy, very suitable to conduct the ceremony to send Ong Tao to heaven.

According to custom, the Tao Quan worship ceremony cannot lack the following items:

- Candy, betel, alcohol.

- Fragrance, fresh flowers, five fruits.

- Three sets of Tao Quan hats, clothes, shoes and gold bars.

- Three live carps for the Kitchen Gods to ride to heaven.

Besides, depending on the conditions and circumstances of each family, they can offer vegetarian or non-vegetarian offerings.

The prayer to the Kitchen Gods is circulated among the people.
