(Baonghean.vn) - While the two brothers were swimming in the Lam River, the older brother unfortunately fell into a sand pit and drowned, while the younger brother was rescued by local people immediately afterward.

On the morning of June 5th, according to Mr. Hoang Nghia Hung, Chairman of the People's Committee of Nam Loc commune, Nam Dan district, a drowning incident occurred in the area, resulting in the death of a young child.

According to the report, at that time, Nguyen Van Quang (born in 1999), residing in Hamlet 3, Nam Loc Commune, and his younger brother, after working in the fields, went swimming in the Lam River due to the hot weather. While swimming, Quang fell into a sand-dredging pit with a very strong current.

Hearing the cries for help, many locals rushed to rescue the two brothers, but only managed to save the younger brother. Nguyen Van Quang was swept away by the water.

Quang's body was also recovered by local residents shortly afterwards.
