Through the report on 5 years of implementing Resolution 20/NQ-TU and 2 years of implementing Directive 09/CT-TU, it shows that: After the implementation of Resolution 20 and Directive 09, the work of population and family planning in Nam Dan district has achieved many very important results: the annual birth rate of the third child or more reached 17.1% (below the average of the whole province); the rate of using modern contraceptive methods has reached and exceeded 100% of the annual plan target. With an average of 2.1 children/1 woman of childbearing age, Nam Dan is one of 5 districts recognized by the province as having achieved replacement fertility. The rate of women with gynecological diseases and the rate of abortion, the rate of maternal and child mortality, and the rate of malnourished children have decreased significantly. The average life expectancy has increased. The scale and benefits of family planning are increasingly accepted by many people. Communication models have been replicated; Many projects have been implemented in accordance with target groups and regional population characteristics, and have been effectively implemented, contributing significantly to the work of hunger eradication and poverty reduction and the achievement of local socio-economic development goals.
However, the district's population and family planning work still has many limitations such as: the birth rate and the rate of third and higher births have decreased but slowly and unstable. The crude birth rate, the rate of third and higher births, the rate of gender imbalance at birth, the rate of malnourished children... are still high, the number of people violating population and family planning policies tends to increase. Some communes invest low funds in population work every year.
Participating in contributing opinions, many delegates representing departments, agencies, and government organizations of the district and commune clearly analyzed the objective and subjective causes. At the same time, they provided lessons learned and solutions for the work of Population and Family Planning in the coming time.
Speaking at the conference, comrade Nguyen Thi Hong Hoa - Deputy Director of the Department of Health, Head of the Provincial Department of Population and Family Planning acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of Nam Dan district in the past time. In addition, she also pointed out many things that need to be done in the coming time for Nam Dan to reduce the birth rate, reduce the gender imbalance rate, and improve the quality of the population. Along with propaganda and mobilization, the district needs to do a good job in providing family planning services; Implement well the reward policy and strictly and promptly handle violations according to regulations; Promote and improve the quality of activities of the staff and population collaborators; At the same time, mobilize maximum resources for population/family planning work. On this occasion, the People's Committee of Nam Dan district also awarded certificates of merit to 8 collectives that have done a good job in population work in the past time.
