Nam Dan organizes training in singing Nghe An folk songs (Vi Giam style).

(Baonghean.vn) -The training course on singing Nghe An folk songs (Vi Giam) was held over two days, April 18th and 19th, 2012.

Nearly 200 participants attended, including cultural officials from communes, youth union secretaries, music teachers from schools, and cultural and artistic figures from agencies and units located in Nam Dan district. This training course aimed to improve the quality of composition and performance in the mass art movement, contributing to the enhancement of the 2012 Nghe An Folk Song Festival organized by the province; and to diversify and enrich cultural and artistic activities leading up to the 122nd anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth and the 2012 Lang Sen Festival.

During the training course, participants systematically learned about several general issues regarding the name and culture of Nghe An province, folk songs and Nghe An folk songs... Participants also gained a better understanding of the various spaces and forms of performing Nghe An folk songs, including those on rivers and waterways, in villages, and in rice fields, along with accompanying props, musical instruments, and costumes; methods of writing performance scripts; and methods of composing lyrics for adapted melodies in Nghe An folk songs...
