Lien's family and relatives were completely devastated when they received the news of her death. |
In the past few months, since she has become fluent in Japanese, Lien has been studying at school and working part-time to pay for her tuition and send money back home to support her family.
Because of the hard work of studying and working, I became seriously ill in the time leading up to my death. So on Christmas Eve I did not go out and just stayed home.
However, at 12am on December 24, I received a call from a friend (also Vietnamese) asking for help because there was a fight with a stranger at a nearby restaurant.
Upon receiving the news, despite being sick, Lien still tried to go to her friend. When she arrived, the fight had ended. Lien tried to find out where her friend was when suddenly a stranger used a hard object (suspected to be a vase) to hit her on the head, causing her to lose consciousness.
After being taken to the hospital for nearly 50 minutes, Nguyen Dinh Lien died due to severe injuries at 1:00 a.m. on December 25.

As for Lien's family, since receiving the bad news, the family has not had a moment of peace, along with that, the debt of more than 300 million is weighing down on the family even more.
