New Year's festivities
Festivals are a long-standing communal cultural and spiritual activity in the history of the nation. Festival activities aim to satisfy spiritual, aesthetic, and entertainment needs and are an indispensable cultural activity in the spiritual life of the people. In other words, festivals are a type of intangible cultural heritage that we need to preserve and promote in the right direction.
Today, people's lives have improved, and the development of the market economy has created a more dynamic and open atmosphere in society. Life is no longer as tranquil as before, but contains more elements of chance and luck. Therefore, the trend of seeking spiritual activities such as "praying for fortune," "praying for wealth," and "praying for luck" is becoming quite popular, especially at the beginning of the new year. In addition, the convenience of transportation and the growing demand for tourism have made festival activities even more vibrant.
According to incomplete statistics, in the last ten years, the number of visitors to spring festivals in our province has become increasingly large and vibrant. Festivals such as the Hang Bua Festival, the Cờn Temple Festival, the Cuông Temple Festival, the Quả Sơn Temple Festival, and festivals at historical sites... This is a positive sign. However, the key issue is how to effectively exploit these festivals, both economically and culturally, to their full potential.
Because, without proper guidance, close coordination, and unified direction in managing festival activities among functional agencies, not only will the positive and healthy aspects of guiding people towards Truth, Goodness, and Beauty not be promoted, but negative and unhealthy behaviors will also arise when visiting temples, pagodas, and shrines. Experience from previous years shows that wherever the Party committee, government, and local departments and organizations prepare for the festival season in a specific, thorough, and complete manner, developing plans and assigning responsibilities to functional agencies in a reasonable way, the festival activities there will be more lively and crowded while still ensuring cultural beauty and social order and safety.
This year's festival season, in order to promote civilized behavior, requires a clear and specific definition of development direction, scale, and forms of activity... aiming to encourage the restoration and organization of traditional, wholesome festivals and folk games; ensuring they do not violate the national customs and traditions; do not disrupt social order and security; and especially, not exploit, in any form, the commercialization of festival activities, nor transform cultural festivals into superstitious practices...
The content of festival activities must be considered as cultural and tourism activities; from there, through tourism, we can promote and honor the intangible cultural values of the festival as well as the cultural values of existing tangible relics; at the same time, we can exploit and promote the cultural values of the festival to create more attractiveness, attracting more tourists, and making tourism activities more vibrant, rich, and diverse! This is both a goal and a measure to ensure that festivals develop in the right direction, creating a beautiful cultural aspect of festivals for the present and future, in line with the country's integration trend in the new era.
With thorough and comprehensive preparation before the festival season, we believe that this year's Spring Festival of the Year of the Tiger will leave many positive impressions on the people and tourists visiting Nghe An - a land that still preserves many cultural and historical relics, with diverse and rich festivals of different ethnic groups throughout the province.
