New year with new vision, new will in creating development

The efforts of the Government and the Prime Minister have demonstrated a new vision of thinking and a new will, meeting the expectations of the people and the requirements of the times.

Looking back at 2016 and looking forward to 2017, the new Government has not only succeeded in "steering" the socio-economic situation through unprecedented difficulties and achieving positive results, but more importantly, has firmly established the trust of the people and the business community, arousing the spirit and expectations of new reforms.

From the time the new Government was formed on April 7 until the last days of the year, from when Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc took the oath of office before the people until he visited the Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center Region II and Da Nang Port on the afternoon of the last day of the year, the Government and the Prime Minister had a year of tireless and decisive action.

With the spirit and spirit of working as if racing against time, the Government and the Prime Minister have continuously made both macro and specific decisions to build an honest, creative, active and serving Government; improve the business environment, remove bottlenecks and perfect institutions, promote the spirit of reform in the state apparatus and the entrepreneurial spirit of the people; handle and solve a series of emerging socio-economic problems, including very large, serious and unprecedented problems such as the marine environmental incident in 4 central provinces.

When he first took office, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc asked members of the Government and all levels and sectors not to falter in the face of difficulties and challenges. The more difficulties and challenges there are, the more efforts, determination, innovation and creativity are required.

As a result, the “turbulent waves” could not “bring down the oars”, but on the contrary, they proved the mettle of those who “took the lead”. Although there is still much to do, many shortcomings and limitations to overcome, the positive results of 2016 have been recognized by the National Assembly and the people of the whole country, in the context of our country facing unprecedented difficulties and challenges in recent years.

In the last days of 2016, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc convened a Government Conference with localities to thoroughly grasp and unify the ideology and actions for 2017. With the spirit of getting to work right from the first days and months of the new year, just like he requested to get to work immediately after taking office, the Prime Minister assigned 30 specific tasks to ministries, branches and localities, with strong and decisive instructions, supported by the people.

It can be said that 2016 has opened a new stage of development for the country. The foundation for faster and more sustainable development is not only created by specific socio-economic results, but more importantly, it has established new confidence, momentum and expectations.

That confidence and momentum come from a series of changes, from the Prime Minister establishing a Working Group to inspect and urge the implementation of the Government and Prime Minister's directives to ensure that words go hand in hand with actions, to the seemingly small but very practical and meaningful act of not wishing leaders a Happy New Year, which the Prime Minister has firmly requested so that the people can monitor.

Entering the new year 2017, entering a new stage of development of the country. Reality is demanding to overcome old ways of thinking, ways of doing, backward thinking and the obstacles of habits, of inertia of the apparatus.
