11-year-old male student drowned at the foot of the spillway of an irrigation reservoir
(Baonghean.vn) - While going out to play at the foot of the spillway of the irrigation reservoir, Nguyen Van B. (11 years old), residing in Thanh An commune (Thanh Chuong), tragically drowned.
According to local residents, on the afternoon of September 23, B. and some children in the neighborhood invited each other to play at the foot of the spillway of Cau Cau irrigation reservoir, Thanh An commune (about 2km from home). At 3:00 p.m., while playing at the foot of the dam, B. slipped and drowned.

Immediately after that, many people came to the foot of Cau Cau spillway, where B. drowned, to look for his body. This afternoon, B.'s body was found. Currently, his family and relatives have brought his body home to carry out burial procedures.
It is known that B. is the youngest in a family of two children.
Locals living near Cau Cau irrigation lake said: In the dry season, Cau Cau lake is dry, the spillway has no water flowing through. In the rainy season, the water in the irrigation lake rises, the water flows strongly through the spillway, the foot of the spillway is a place with many potential drowning risks.
