10th grade male student shot down due to conflict on facebook

While eating mixed rice paper, a 10th grade male student in Gia Lai was shot in the head by Huynh Van Dung (16 years old). The cause of the conflict was on social media.

On December 8, Nguyen Chi Thanh High School (Pleiku City, Gia Lai Province) said it had sent a document to the Gia Lai Province Department of Education and Training reporting on the incident in which a student of the school was shot.

Accordingly, at around 12:30 on December 6, Dinh Hoang Long, a student of class 10B6, Nguyen Chi Thanh High School, was drinking water and eating mixed rice paper at the shop of Ms. Dang Thi Lieu (55 years old) when the above incident suddenly happened.

Male student is being treated in hospital after being shot

Ms. Lieu said: At about 12:15 on December 6, Long and some friends just got off the bus and went to my restaurant to order mixed rice paper to eat.

A moment later, two teenagers on a motorbike parked on the opposite side of the road, one stood by the motorbike while the other entered the shop. One stood outside, the other entered the shop and asked: "Who is Dinh Hoang Long?".

When Long stood up and admitted that he was Long, a young man approached and hit him, pulled out a gun and shot him once in the head but missed...

Immediately, Long panicked and ran away, but this young man chased after him and shot him a second time in the head, causing him to collapse on the spot, bleeding profusely from his ear.

Then the young man got on his motorbike, revved the engine and ran away. Long was taken to the hospital by some students from the same school…

Currently, victim Long is still being treated at Gia Lai General Hospital and is still in a deep coma, on a ventilator, with low blood pressure, and a very poor prognosis.

According to a doctor who directly treated the patient, Long was hospitalized with a head injury near his right ear, a dural hematoma outside the brain, and a piece of metal embedded in his head.

Because the wound is so severe that it could affect the patient's life, the hospital has not yet performed surgery to remove the foreign object.

The suspect who committed the crime and the gun used to shoot the male student

According to Lieutenant Colonel Tran Ngoc Anh - Chief of Staff of Gia Lai Provincial Police, the cause was a conflict on social media between the victim and the suspect Huynh Van Dung's younger brother, so Dung used a gun to take revenge. After committing the crime, the subjects fled to Kon Tum.

A few hours later, after receiving the report, Gia Lai Provincial Police ambushed and arrested two suspects who caused the incident, including Huynh Van Dung (16 years old, group 13, Hoi Phu ward, Pleiku city) and Cao Van Manh (14 years old, Hoi Thuong ward).

Initial information shows that Dung was the one who directly fired the gun.

Currently, the police are taking statements and verifying related information to determine how to handle the situation.
