Mountainous male student wins high prize in National Youth Informatics Contest

(Baonghean.vn) - AtThe national youth information technology and creativity contest was recently held in Quy Nhon city, Binh Dinh province.Tran Manh Cuong, a student of class 11A1 at Anh Son 2 High School, won third prize with his project VietDE - the first human-computer interactive operating system environment in Vietnam.

Tran Manh Cuong's father works as an electronics repairman at home in his poor hometown of Linh Son commune, Anh Son, in the western part of Nghe An.

Since childhood, Cuong often tinkered with old electronic devices that his father repaired and without knowing when, this poor boy had a special interest in electronic devices. When he was in middle school, when there was a computer science subject, Cuong was very interested and very good at it.

His parents, who work in electronics repair, instilled in Tran Manh Cuong a passion for computers from a young age.

Loving computer science, and being supported by his parents by buying a computer early, Cuong became more passionate and proved his special ability. During consecutive years of studying at Phan Thai At Secondary School (Linh Son, Anh Son), he was selected to participate in youth computer science competitions from provincial to central level and achieved many achievements.

In grade 12, at Anh Son 2 High School, Tran Manh Cuong continued to nurture his passion for computer science. He is the owner of creative software such as Mtcsuite: First prize in the 20th Nghe An Youth Informatics Contest (2014), Second prize in the Nghe An Youth and Children's Creativity Contest 2014; Mtcsuite - lockdownapp: First prize in the 21st Nghe An Youth Informatics Contest (2015), Second prize in the Nghe An Youth and Children's Creativity Contest 2015, Third prize - bronze medal in the National Nghe An Youth and Children's Creativity Contest 2015; MtcstudyOS - Learning application management system: First prize in the Nghe An Science and Technology Contest 2016; VietDe - Vietnam's first operating system environment: First prize in the 22nd Nghe An Youth Informatics Contest (2016), Special prize in the Nghe An Youth and Children's Creativity Contest 2016...

With that passion, I constantly learn and achieve many high achievements in IT innovation competitions.

In early August, at the National Non-Professional Youth Informatics Competition in Quy Nhon, Binh Dinh Cuong was the only high school contestant from the North Central and Northern regions to make it to the final round. The software "VietDE - the first human-computer interactive operating system environment in Vietnam" was highly appreciated by the jury for its creativity, high practicality, and integration of many functions to help users use resources on the system, share and easily search.

In particular, Cuong has upgraded the software and developed the ability to synchronize between devices, helping to be more efficient in work and study, adding a system for smart desktop devices... Many people evaluate that this software is the first purely Vietnamese human-computer interaction operating system, a platform to help students develop more advanced information technology products.

With such improvements, Cuong excellently won 3rd prize nationwide.

Every day, besides helping my parents with housework, I am also passionate about learning about computer science.

Teacher Nguyen Quang Bang - who has been with him in recent competitions, commented: "Although he has won many noble awards, for Tran Manh Cuong, that is still just a motivation for him to continue striving. With friends and teachers, he is always a harmonious and polite person. He always deserves to be the honor and pride of his family, teachers and friends of Anh Son 2 High School."

Despite consecutively winning many high awards in IT, Cuong still keeps trying. The immediate goal of this student about to enter grade 12 is to take the entrance exam to the University of Technology to pursue his dream.

Tran Manh Cuong shared that passion is the most important factor to be successful. His achievements are the motivation for him to be determined to pass the entrance exam to the University of Technology, to satisfy his passion to become an IT expert.
