A male student from Phan School wins a Gold Medal at the Mendeleev International Chemistry Olympiad.
This is the second piece of good news for Phan Boi Chau Specialized High School (Nghe An) this week, as several students have won medals at regional and international Olympic competitions.
Information from Phan Boi Chau Specialized High School indicates that atMendeleev International Chemistry OlympiadAt the International Maritime Olympiad (IMChO) 2025, student Nguyen Ngo Duc - class 12A4 - won a Gold Medal.
Previously, in his fifth year, Nguyen Ngo Duc also participated in this competition and won a Silver Medal. He is also an outstanding student, having won first prize in the national Chemistry competition for two consecutive years.

Besides Nguyen Ngo Duc, student Tran Trung Kien (Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for Gifted Students, Hanoi) also won a Gold Medal.
Two silver medals were awarded to students Dinh Trong An (High School for Gifted Students in Natural Sciences, Vietnam National University, Hanoi) and Tran Hoang Nam (Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for Gifted Students, Hanoi).

The 59th Mendeleev International Chemistry Olympiad in 2025 will be held from May 3rd to May 13th in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, with the participation of 192 contestants from 40 countries and territories. This is known as the "most difficult Chemistry Olympiad in the world".
With the results achieved, the Vietnamese team is one of the highest-achieving countries in the competition, after Russia and China.
The Mendeleev International Chemistry Olympiad is named after the Russian chemist Dmitri Mendeleev, who invented the periodic table of chemical elements. It is one of the oldest and most prestigious science Olympiads in the world, held under the patronage of UNESCO.
Four Vietnamese students participating in the Mendeleev International Chemistry Olympiad were selected based on the results of the 2025 regional and international Olympiad selection exams. The Faculty of Science, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, was assigned by the Ministry of Education and Training to select and form the delegation.
