(Baonghean.vn) - Through the "Golden Bell" contest, the Population sector hopes to accompany union members and young people in schools in improving knowledge about population and development, and skills in reproductive health care for adolescents and young people.

On the morning of November 3, at Hermann Gmeiner Vinh High School, the Department of Health, the Department of Education and Training, and the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs jointly organized the "Ring the Golden Bell" contest to learn about knowledge about population and reproductive health of adolescents and young people.

This is the third school this year and the first non-public school chosen by the Provincial Department of Population and Family Planning to organize the "Contest"Ring the Golden Bell"Learn about population knowledge - reproductive health of adolescents and young people after many years of organizing the program.

Coming to the contest, 100 contestants participated in answering 30 questions to learn about local culture, history, geography and knowledge about population - reproductive health of adolescents and youth; knowledge about population, family planning; knowledge, life skills, skills to prevent and combat sexual abuse.

Between the competitions, there were many other exciting activities such as the teachers' relief competition, the audience interaction and enjoying many elaborate performances by the teachers and the school.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the contest, Principal of Hermann Gmeiner High School affirmed that the contest is a very practical and useful activity, especially for a special school with 3 levels of education including primary, secondary and high school like the school.

In addition, some of the school's students are children in difficult circumstances, suffering many disadvantages and losses, and do not have many conditions to expand their knowledge and skills. Through this competition, they will have the opportunity to consolidate and improve their knowledge, to be aware of protecting their health, to have a healthy lifestyle, and to help them be more confident when entering life.

Taking care of and educating adolescents on reproductive health plays an important role in ensuring their future careers and contributing to improving population quality. Over the years, this has always been an issue of concern to the Population sector with many practical activities.

The focus is on reproductive health education and propaganda for adolescents in schools, helping them gain more knowledge about adolescent reproductive health and prepare a good mindset for reproductive health issues while still in school. Thereby, helping students equip themselves with skills to deal with psychological and physiological changes; ways to avoid sexual abuse; prevent unwanted pregnancies, etc.

At the end of the contest, student Nguyen Van Hoanh - class 10A2 excellently passed the questions and won first prize, ringing the golden bell in the end.

In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded students with good achievements and enthusiastic cheering teams of Hermann Gmeiner High School.
