Male student dies from rabid dog bite before new school year

On September 3, information from the leader of Yen Na commune, Tuong Duong district said that a 6th grade student in the area had just died from being bitten by a rabid dog.
About 2 months ago, while herding buffalo, Luong Thai San (born 2007), residing in Xieng Nua village, Yen Na commune, Tuong Duong district, was bitten by a dog. Because he was subjective, he did not inform his family to take him to the doctor and get vaccinated.
In recent days, San showed strange symptoms suspected of rabies, so his family took him to the emergency room at Tuong Duong District Hospital, then transferred him to the provincial hospital. "He died around dawn on September 3," said the victim's family.
San is starting 6th grade at Yen Na Secondary School. As soon as they heard the news, the Tuong Duong District Education Department, the school and local authorities visited and encouraged the victim's family.
Currently, family and relatives are holding a funeral for San according to local customs.
