Tran Huu Phuc is a student in class 11E, Tuong Duong 1 High School, Tuong Duong mountainous district. Since childhood, Phuc has had a great passion for scientific creation. He can sit meticulously for hours just to chisel, cut... the items that he makes use of from old things in the house. Photo: Dinh Tuan |

"Since I was little, I loved to explore and create, but it wasn't until grade 10 that I started to learn and research and make products through books and the internet. The first product I made was a robot that swept the trash," Phuc confided. Phuc's passion for scientific and technical creation was further fueled by teacher Mai Dinh Thinh - a teacher at Tuong Duong 1 High School. Many times, teachers and students worked, studied, and researched together. Through his guidance, Phuc's love for science was further enhanced. Not only that, teacher Thinh also supported Phuc with funding to buy components for manufacturing. Photo: Dinh Tuan |

Difficult family conditions also greatly affected Phuc's passion, but with the encouragement of family, friends and guidance from teachers, Phuc has researched and created many very useful products. In the photo is the smart robot arm created by Phuc. This arm has the effect of supporting the disabled, the elderly, or replacing humans working in toxic environments... Photo: Dinh Tuan |

Mr. Tran Huu Cau, father of Tran Huu Phuc, said: "Since he was in primary school, Phuc has loved to explore and discover. Whenever someone told him that his parents bought him toys, he would only play with them for a day at most, then open them up and put them back together. Sometimes, from a remote-controlled car, he would tinker and reassemble it into a ship, or a car would be reassembled into an excavator... Although his family is still poor, he is passionate, so his family will try to create the best conditions for him to pursue his dream." Around mid-June this year, Tran Huu Phuc will participate in the Provincial Science and Technology Competition for high school students with 3 products: a smart robot arm, a solar panel navigation device and an automatic hand washing machine. Also at this competition last year, Phuc won the fourth prize with the project "Mini generator combining solar panels and wind energy". Phuc said that his dream is to become a good programmer. Commenting on Tran Huu Phuc, teacher Mai Dinh Thinh, a teacher at Tuong Duong 1 High School, said: “Phuc is a student with a passion for science and technology. Especially in the field of electronic engineering and robotics. He always has a burning passion for scientific research and the creation of useful products that are feasible for practical application. During the Covid-19 pandemic, Phuc came up with the idea of inventing an automatic hand washing machine. After only a short time, the automatic hand washing machine was completed and worked quite well. I hope that the passion for creativity and the achievements he has made will be the luggage that motivates this student to firmly step forward and succeed on his path of scientific research.”
