Young man threatens to throw acid and cut off his girlfriend's hand to blackmail her
After being cheated out of his wages by the contractor, Chi was in dire straits and texted a girl he met on social media, threatening to have his underlings throw acid on him and cut off his hand to extort money.
On June 8, the Criminal Police Department of Da Nang City Police handed over Dang Ngoc Chi (28 years old, residing in Anh Son commune, Tinh Gia district, Thanh Hoa) to Cam Le district police to investigate the case of Chi extorting money from a girlfriend he met through social networks.
According to initial investigation, in February, Chi moved from his hometown to Da Nang to work as a bricklayer. Here, Chi created a social media account to get to know Ms. Giang (name changed, living in Cam Le district).

After talking for a while, Chi asked Ms. Giang to meet him for coffee. When he arrived at the shop, the young man only had 40,000 VND so he did not go in but just stood outside looking at Ms. Giang and then left.
On June 3, Chi was swindled out of his wages by the contractor. Due to his debt to the bank, Chi had the idea of extorting Ms. Giang's property.
This guy then texted Ms. Giang saying that someone hired him to follow her and forced her to go to a motel with Chi or give him 5 million VND, otherwise he would have his underlings throw acid on her and cut off her hand.
Fearing, Ms. Giang agreed to give Chi 5 million VND, in exchange for Chi telling her who hired him to follow her. At noon on June 5, Chi went to a coffee shop on Xuan Thuy Street (Cam Le District) to receive the money and was caught red-handed by the police.
