Cranberry: A miracle cure for cystitis

Cystitis occurs when bacteria infect the urethra (the tube that carries urine out of the body) and then enter the bladder. Cystitis is also commonly referred to as a urinary tract infection.

Health experts say cranberries can help improve inflammation by inhibiting infection-causing bacteria. The fruit is rich in antioxidants and contains many essential nutrients such as vitamin C, vitamin A, calcium, sodium (a substance found in table salt), fiber, protein, iron and potassium.

According to experts, eat about 5-7 fresh cranberries every day until the symptoms of inflammation subside. Even if you are healthy, eating cranberries can help prevent inflammation.

You can also consume cranberries in juice form. There are two ways to prepare cranberry juice, either by blending or boiling. Take a few fresh cranberries and half a glass of water, blend them in a blender, strain the juice and then drink it once a day. To enhance the flavor, you can add 1 tablespoon of honey. Or crush a few cranberries, add water and put on the stove, stir well, boil for about 10 minutes. Drink a glass every day.

Alternatively, you can eat dried cranberries. Just eat 7-10 pieces of dried cranberries every day until the symptoms subside. This also helps prevent cystitis.
