The competition for excellent lecturers is an activity of great significance to the task of training and fostering, contributing to the correct assessment of the qualifications of the teaching staff, the quality of lectures and interactive activities with students.

Thereby, promoting the emulation movement of good teaching, good learning, improving the professional qualifications and pedagogical capacity of lecturers in the direction of focusing on theoretical knowledge associated with practice; methods; pedagogical skills; implementing innovation in teaching methods, focusing on applying active teaching methods; exploiting equipment, devices, applying information technology in teaching, especially applying to training and fostering subjects who are cadres with leadership and management positions or reserve cadres for leadership and management of the political system at all levels.

The contest also aims to create conditions for lecturers to exchange, help and learn from each other's experiences in their daily pedagogical activities in all stages: lesson planning, preparation, teaching, student learning management, professional knowledge, methods, and pedagogical skills. At the same time, discover outstanding lecturers with qualities and abilities to commend and promote excellent factors in the emulation movement for good teaching; contribute to innovation in teaching methods.

In addition, the competition is also one of the bases for developing a training plan to improve the professional qualifications of lecturers, meeting the requirements of innovation in education and training in general and political theory education in particular. Through the competition, excellent lecturers are selected to participate in the National Excellent Lecturer Competition at the Academy level, held every two years.

Master Nguyen Thi Kim Oanh - Deputy Head of the Faculty of Marxist-Leninist Theory and Ho Chi Minh Thought, a lecturer who has won the title of Excellent Lecturer at the Academy level and has participated in the school-level Excellent Lecturer competition for many years, said: "The competition is truly a good environment for the teaching staff to demonstrate and improve their expertise and is the basis for the school's leaders to evaluate the teaching staff, thereby having training and development plans."

In order for the excellent lecturer competition to be successful and bring about the most practical results, the school's Board of Directors has directed the organization and implementation process in a fully scientific manner, such as: Building and perfecting regulations on training and fostering, having regulations on the excellent lecturer competition associated with the annual emulation and reward, evaluation and classification of lecturers.

The regulations stipulate that lecturers entering the school from the 6th year onwards from the date of recruitment decision must take part in the school-level excellent lecturer competition and encourage those who do not have enough time to participate in the competition.

To nominate lecturers to participate in the school-level excellent lecturer competition, all specialized departments must organize a competition at the faculty level and be evaluated as excellent lecturers at the faculty level before nominating them to participate in the competition. The functional departments advise on the issuance of decisions on organizing the competition such as: Organizing Committee of the competition; Examination Council; Those who achieve the title of excellent lecturer are awarded certificates and rewards.

Lecturers participating in the competition will teach in the LLCT-HC Intermediate Training Program according to their major. The regulations stipulate that good lecturers are evaluated based on the following items: lesson plan; knowledge; method; attire. Each content has evaluation criteria for members of the Examination Council to give grades: excellent, good, fair, average, unsatisfactory.

After the lectures of the participating lecturers ended, the Organizing Committee conducted a discussion with the school's lecturers to give comments to the lecturers on the lectures. This was truly a lively, useful and practical professional activity for lecturers to learn, exchange knowledge, methods, skills and experiences with each other to improve the quality of their lectures.

Master Nguyen Thi Hong Giang - lecturer of the Party Building Department, who participated in the 2016 school-level GVDG Competition for the first time, shared: "The competition is a useful professional activity that helps young lecturers learn about experience, skills, teaching methods, pedagogical behavior, is a training ground for maturity and is a festival for lecturers and students of the school".

Through the organization of the Excellent Lecturer Competition in recent years at Nghe An Political School, it can be said that the professional quality of the competition has been increasingly improved, demonstrated through the fact that the school's lecturers have a firm grasp of professional knowledge, ensuring basic requirements for interdisciplinary knowledge, determining the relationship of knowledge between lectures of each section and subject, knowing how to update new knowledge on socio-economics, Party resolutions, and State policies and laws to promptly supplement the lectures, making the lectures more topical and convincing to learners.

Lecturers have proactively increased the practical content in the framework of lectures and lessons to make it easier and more interesting for learners to absorb, creating a lively atmosphere in the lessons. Through the process of preparing and organizing the contest, it has helped to train and improve the pedagogical skills of the teaching staff, helping lecturers to be confident in class, making lectures more lively and attractive to learners.

Through the competition, lecturers demonstrated their ability to select and combine appropriate teaching methods and forms for each lesson and each subject; establish a suitable learning environment, encourage learners to participate actively; handle pedagogical situations well and flexibly; and have quite fluent skills in operating support tools.

Master Tran Viet Linh - Vice Principal in charge of training and fostering of the school said: "By successfully organizing and participating in the Competition for excellent lecturers at all levels in recent years, Nghe An Provincial Political School has made an important contribution to improving the quality of training and fostering cadres to meet the requirements of the period of industrialization and modernization of the country in order to successfully implement the goals and tasks set by the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2015 - 2020 term. The school will continue to maintain and promote the competitions better in the following years, especially successfully organizing and achieving the highest results at the 6th National Competition organized by the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics at Nghe An Political School in October 2017".
