Improving the quality of recommending outstanding union members to the Party.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of July 14th, the Nghe An Provincial Youth Union held a conference to review the work of the Youth Union and youth movements in the first six months of 2014 and to summarize the five-year implementation of the campaign encouraging Youth Union members to strive to become members of the Communist Party of Vietnam. Attending the conference were members of the Provincial Youth Union Executive Committee and Standing Committee, representatives from district and town Youth Unions, affiliated Youth Unions, and relevant departments, agencies, and organizations.

Overview of the conference

In the first six months of 2014, youth organizations effectively utilized over 500 billion VND in loans from the policy bank, creating jobs for more than 24,000 young workers; established 30 youth volunteer teams with the participation of over 200 members; recruited 15,215 new members, and recommended 4,200 outstanding members, including 1,832 who were admitted to the Party… Over the five years (2008-2013), 56,982 outstanding members were recommended, including 24,606 who were admitted to the Party.

At the conference, delegates discussed and contributed ideas on several issues of concern to the Youth Union at all levels, including: propaganda and education work for Youth Union members and young people; monitoring public opinion following China's illegal placement of the Haiyang 981 oil rig in Vietnam's exclusive economic zone and continental shelf; effective solutions for implementing the "Year of Youth Volunteers 2014"; new approaches and innovative models in organizing Youth Union, Youth Association, and Young Pioneer activities; and improving the quality of recommending outstanding Youth Union members for Party consideration and admission.
