Focus on development goals

The large hall of Vinh University on the last night of the year was warm and exciting when over 1,500 cadres, teachers, students and pupils of the Faculty of Economics and Politics gathered to listen to Dr. Ho Duc Phoc - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee present practical issues related to the socio-economic development in the province in the past year and solutions to focus on development in the coming time.

In addition to information on the socio-economic achievements that the Party Committee and people of Uncle Ho's hometown have achieved in recent times, comrade Ho Duc Phoc provided additional major orientations of the province, which are: Although there are still many difficulties due to objective and subjective factors, Nghe An is striving to become the socio-economic center of the North Central region, focusing on promoting investment attraction to develop key economic sectors; attracting major breakthrough projects to promote the development of other sectors and fields. The province is actively reforming administration, focusing on supervising the implementation of political tasks and socio-economic development of departments and branches.

In addition to attracting investors, the province focuses on attracting high-quality resources with many preferential policies. During the development process, the province pays attention to and promptly and effectively resolves issues related to people's lives such as: ensuring clean water, electricity, environment, and implementing well the work of poverty reduction and social security. In particular, the whole province is focusing all resources on implementing the resolution's goals, especially Resolution 26 of the Politburo on building Nghe An into a center of finance, trade, tourism, education - training, science and technology, health, sports, and high-tech industry of the North Central provinces by 2020.

To successfully implement Resolution 26, right in the months of the third quarter of 2013, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, organizations and people of localities have organized to thoroughly grasp, review and correctly assess the reality, from which, find reasonable solutions to accelerate. The difficulties and challenges caused by the world and domestic economy in the recession period have significantly affected the development of Nghe An. However, with the direction of the Politburo, together with the determination of the entire Party and people, fundamental and focused solutions have been discussed and implemented step by step. Looking at the results achieved in the past time of the province, we have confidence in success such as: The province has formed 3 key economic zones, 1 economic zone, 8 industrial parks.

In mountainous districts and highlands, there have also been clear changes, people's lives have gradually improved, education has developed strongly, and educational achievements are among the top in the country. The province has also formed an educational and training center with 5 universities, 8 colleges and vocational schools; gradually formed a commercial and financial center with a system of 34 commercial banks, formed a high-quality aquaculture area and milk and agricultural product processing factories in the West of the province. Infrastructure has developed strongly and is increasingly synchronized; transportation has been upgraded in terms of aviation services, road traffic, and sea transport, facilitating trade and economic development... Many fields are on the way to strong growth, moving towards becoming the leading position in the North Central region.

With the efforts of the leadership team at all levels from the province to departments, branches and localities, Nghe An is having positive changes, innovation in thinking, promoting the combined strength, creating a favorable environment for socio-economic development. Action programs, plans, projects, mechanisms and policies to implement the resolution are being determinedly implemented by the entire political system, the business community and all people for the prosperity of the province.

Human resource training is a key task.

After listening to the Provincial Party Secretary present major orientations and solutions for socio-economic development, many officials, teachers and students attending the Conference asked questions about: the issue of increasing investment attraction associated with human resource training and job creation; what strategies does the province have to improve its ability to attract investment in the current difficult period; industrial development associated with environmental protection; development policies for regions, especially the midlands and mountainous areas...

When asking the Provincial Party Secretary, student Nguyen Mai Phong - majoring in Business Administration (Faculty of Economics) asked to know the concerns and coordination of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee in improving the quality of training and solving employment problems for students after graduation. Student Huyen Trang - majoring in Accounting - K51 (Faculty of Economics) asked about the opportunities for students to find jobs in Nghe An after graduation. Meanwhile, student Thuy Trinh - K51 - Business Administration (Faculty of Economics) expressed great concern in balancing industrial development with environmental protection, ensuring people's lives.

Answering the above questions, comrade Ho Duc Phoc affirmed: Vinh University has 55 years of tradition, training a lot of human resources for Nghe An province and the whole country. During that process, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee have always paid attention and created the best conditions such as creating land for the school to build two spacious facilities, providing enough electricity and water for staff, teachers, and students to study and live. Over the past years, Vinh University graduates have been accepted to work in agencies, offices, and in districts, cities, and towns. Many comrades currently hold important positions... During the development process, along with mobilizing resources, strongly improving the investment environment, promoting production and business development, the province has created favorable conditions for economic sectors to develop together, thereby creating conditions for students of Vinh University and many other schools to find jobs and have stable incomes.

Currently, the province is increasing investment attraction, promotion, economic cooperation, especially attracting many large projects, modern technology FDI foreign investment projects. This requires the students themselves to actively study, improve their knowledge and skills to meet the labor recruitment requirements of investors. The opinions of the students also suggest the current issue that Vinh University as well as other schools must strengthen their connection with businesses to provide training according to the address, meet the requirements of society, ensure that graduates have the opportunity to find jobs, and quickly catch up with the development process. As for the province, there have been preferential policies to attract excellent students for the state apparatus at all levels.

The Provincial Party Secretary also affirmed that among the development goals, developing human resources and science and technology, improving the quality of human resources is considered a strength and advantage of Nghe An. Therefore, the province always pays attention to vocational training to meet the labor demand in industrial parks and factories in the area, in the region as well as internationally. One of the requirements of the Politburo is that by 2020, Nghe An will become a center of high technology, information technology, healthcare, agriculture, clean industry... To implement this content, the contribution of cadres, teachers, students of Vinh University and universities, colleges, and vocational education in the province plays a decisive role.

At the meeting, on behalf of the Board of Directors, staff, teachers and students, Associate Professor, Dr. Meritorious Student Dinh Xuan Khoa - Rector of Vinh University thanked the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee and the Provincial Party Secretary himself for their support and sharing in the development of the school; and said: "The major orientations in the socio-economic development of Nghe An are also the issues raised for the school in the process of training human resources. This is the second time that Comrade Ho Duc Phoc has spent time talking with staff, teachers and students of Vinh University. The suggestions of the Provincial Party Secretary are like "orders" for the school in improving the quality of training students in Economics, Information Technology, Biology, Social Management, etc. to provide human resources for the province, contributing to the development of Uncle Ho's hometown in the coming time".
