(Baonghean) - With the desire to have a creative playground for reporters and collaborators, improve the quality of press photos, record the most beautiful images and moments of Nghe An land and people, Nghe An Newspaper organized the press photo contest "Golden Moment".
This is also a useful professional activity, an opportunity for professional journalists, collaborators and photojournalism enthusiasts to learn and exchange about their profession, thereby raising awareness and the importance of photojournalism in the new trend.
With the viewpoint that the press reflects all aspects of life, society, and press photography is the same, in "Golden Moment", the Organizing Committee of the award does not set a specific theme or content, but expands to all fields, all professions, and all aspects of social life, from politics, economics, culture - society, security - defense... to attract professional and non-professional photographers, inside and outside the province to participate in the award.

From the initial idea, to this 8th season, the “Golden Moment” Contest organized by Nghe An Newspaper has become an annual press photo contest, with the number of reporters and collaborators participating increasing year by year, along with the increasingly diverse, rich and high quality photo entries. Many award-winning works at the “Golden Moment” Contest have been selected to compete and won many high prizes at national press awards, domestic and international photography awards, and provincial press awards.
To get good press photos, "golden moments", reporters and collaborators must know how to "capture" the most "expensive" moments.
Currently, Nghe An electronic newspaper has applied multimedia journalism, presented in Longform, Emagazine style... using high-quality, impressive images, the role of images is even more important. Images must contain both content and press information, and attract readers. Therefore, to have good press photos, "golden moments", reporters and collaborators must have serious investment in both means and working skills, how to "capture" the most "expensive" moments, contributing to increasing the value of press works in general, creating impressions and prestige with readers.
The Editorial Board of Nghe An Newspaper also always focuses on training and fostering professional photojournalism skills for reporters and collaborators, in order to improve their qualifications and skills in the process of creating photojournalism works. In addition to being trained and improving their skills, reporters and collaborators of Nghe An Newspaper have also boldly invested in modern equipment and cameras to work in any environment and circumstance.
In order for the “Golden Moment” Photojournalism Contest to spread the passion for creativity, to be a useful playground for reporters, collaborators, and those who love photojournalism, the Organizing Committee of the Contest has done a good job of posting the entries on Nghe An Newspaper publications, to encourage and motivate the authors to participate in the contest, and at the same time, to let viewers fully feel all the activities of social life reflected through the entries.

In this 2019 season, after nearly 1 year of launching, there were more than 1,000 works by 76 authors from all over the country submitted to the contest.
The photos submitted to the contest have captured many valuable moments in all fields: current affairs - politics, economy - society, national defense - security... Through visual language, many works have created strong emotions for viewers, showing the encouraging developments in the life of production and labor, the development of the province.
In addition, the “hot” events in the province were also recorded in a realistic and vivid way, showing the dedication, creativity, and meticulous investment of the authors in the process of working, to have “golden moments” sent to the contest. From these works, the Organizing Committee selected 58 works (corresponding to the 58th anniversary of the founding of Nghe An Newspaper) for the final round, from the final round continued to select the works that won First, Second, and Third place to award prizes.

The new feature this year is that the Closing Ceremony and Award Ceremony for the “Golden Moment” photo contest will be held at the Kim Lien Relic Site (Nam Dan District), adding to the solemnity and significance of the contest. This activity is part of a series of events celebrating the 58th anniversary of Nghe An Newspaper.
From the success of the "Golden Moment" photo contests, from the 2020 season, to keep up with the development trend of journalism in the era of information explosion, Nghe An Newspaper will organize an additional video clip contest - a type of journalism that is being strongly developed in the digital age, to create more choices for readers on new publications and applications of Nghe An Newspaper, while increasing interaction and digital working skills for reporters and collaborators. Creating conditions for reporters and collaborators to have another meaningful and useful playground for journalism.
Organizing the video clip contest is also part of the plan to improve the quality and expand the publications of Nghe An Newspaper, including the YouTube channel of Nghe An Newspaper. Currently, Nghe An Newspaper is developing a YouTube channel to make the most of multimedia applications, update information accurately and promptly to readers, to improve the quality and diversity of Nghe An Newspaper publications, contributing to the development of the provincial press in particular, the national press in general, as well as the modernization of the homeland and the country.
