Improving the management of district-level radio and television stations

August 13, 2012 15:08

(Baonghean)On the morning of August 10, the Department of Information and Communications coordinated with the Regional Radio Frequency Center VI to organize a conference on the management of district-level Radio and Television stations in 2012.

Implementing Decision No. 2456/QD-UBND.VX dated June 28, 2011 of the Provincial People's Committee on transferring district-level Radio and Television Stations to the People's Committees of districts, cities and towns for management, the operations of district-level Radio and Television Stations have gradually stabilized. District-level Radio and Television Stations actively propagate economic, political and social activities taking place in the area.

However, since the transfer, the district Radio and Television Station has encountered many difficulties in terms of staff numbers, regular operating costs, unreasonable royalty payment regime, lack of staff in charge of grassroots radio stations, low professional qualifications of reporters, seriously degraded facilities and infrastructure, etc.

From now until the end of 2012, the Department of Information and Communications will coordinate with relevant departments, branches and sectors to find practical solutions to resolve problems, creating conditions for district-level radio and television stations to operate effectively.
