(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of December 27, the Vinh City Fatherland Front Committee held a conference to review the front's work in 2016 and deploy tasks for 2017.

In 2016, the activities of the city's Fatherland Front had many innovations in methods and content in a diverse, specific and practical direction, based on selecting the city's key issues to participate in. In addition to propagating the Party's Resolutions at all levels into life and celebrating major holidays, the Fatherland Front at all levels actively propagated and mobilized union members, association members, and people of all walks of life to improve and build a civilized urban lifestyle.

Through the 5 self-management movement, the city has 43 implementation models: self-management of urban order; security and order; civilized lifestyle in weddings and funerals; environmental sanitation; food safety.

The city's Fatherland Front has also actively participated in propaganda and mobilization of people to dispose of household waste on time on 50 main streets; associated with the "Green Sunday" movement in residential areas. Actively propagandizing and mobilizing people to comply with tax laws, reducing tax losses in the area.

The City Fatherland Front Committee also has many measures and solutions to take care of building the great national unity bloc; protecting the legitimate rights and interests of the people.

Activities of supervision, social criticism, and participation in building a strong Party and government were carried out with quality. During the year, the City Fatherland Front organized two thematic supervisions: revenue and expenditure, management of humanitarian funds; issuance of health insurance cards for poor and near-poor households, the elderly aged 80 and over, and children under 6 years old. Ward and commune levels supervised 30 topics related to revenue and expenditure, management of funds in residential areas; socialization of education; mobilization of resources for new rural construction; public ethics; hygiene and food safety in school kitchens...

In 2017, the Vinh City Fatherland Front Committee continued to promote propaganda, mobilization and explanation for all classes of people to carry out the common political tasks of the city. Effectively carry out the campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas"; improve the effectiveness of the function of social supervision and criticism.

At the same time, promote the combined strength of the entire political system to take care of hunger eradication and poverty reduction; help the poor and people in especially difficult circumstances in the city and poor districts in the province...

On this occasion, 23 people were awarded the Medal for the cause of Great National Unity. The Provincial Fatherland Front Committee awarded certificates of merit to 5 collectives and individuals; Vinh City People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 6 collectives and 6 individuals; The City Fatherland Front Committee awarded certificates of merit to 20 collectives and 18 individuals for their outstanding achievements in the front work in 2016. The Vinh City Fatherland Front Committee also awarded certificates of merit to 11 collectives with outstanding achievements in contributing to the fund for the poor.
