Improving SABECO's investment efficiency in Nghe An

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of December 20, the Provincial People's Committee held a meeting with Saigon Beer - Alcohol - Beverage Corporation (SABECO) on investment results in Nghe An and coordination between the province and the corporation in expanding production and improving business efficiency in the coming time.

Overview of the work.

Attending the meeting were comrades Nguyen Dac Vinh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Le Xuan Dai - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Huynh Thanh Dien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and leaders of departments, branches, districts, cities and towns.

On the side of SABECO Corporation, there were Le Hong Xanh - General Director; Mr. Van Thanh Liem - Chairman of the Board of Directors of SABECO Song Lam Investment Joint Stock Company and representatives of 2 beer factories and member units of the Corporation in Nghe An.

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong spoke at the meeting, requesting SABECO Corporation to strengthen coordination to improve investment efficiency.

At the beginning of the meeting, Comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong highly appreciated the efforts and active investment of SABECO Corporation in Nghe An. The Corporation's units in the area are among the top in the province in terms of contribution to the State budget; creating jobs for nearly 1,000 workers in factories with an average income of 8.5 million VND/person/month and creating jobs and income for thousands of satellite service workers.

Up to now, 2 SABECO breweries in Nghe An have a production capacity of 200 million liters/year (of which, Saigon - Song Lam Brewery has a capacity of 100 million liters/year; Saigon - Nghe Tinh Brewery has a capacity of 50 million liters). Beer output of SABECO breweries in Nghe An increases annually. In 2016 alone, the expected productivity is 210.208 million liters, an increase of nearly 11 million liters compared to 2015.

Saigon - Song Lam Brewery located in Hung Nguyen - Nam Dan, Nghe An province has the capacity to produce 150 million liters/year.

Beer is one of the items that contribute the most tax to the state budget. In recent years, SABECO has contributed an average of nearly 1,000 billion VND to the budget.

However, SABECO beer is facing strong competition from many domestic and foreign beer companies, so it is necessary to increase propaganda, promotion, and encourage "Vietnamese people to use Vietnamese products" to boost production, create jobs, and contribute more to the State budget.

Nghe An Provincial People's Committee requested Saigon - Song Lam Brewery to propose to the Ministry of Industry and Trade to increase productivity to 150 million liters/year and strengthen marketing, market development, research to have products suitable to consumer tastes; at the same time, have social security activities, spread the brand.

Comrade Pham Thi Hong Toan - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nghe An Newspaper spoke at the meeting.

At the meeting, there were many opinions from representatives of departments, branches, and propaganda agencies on promoting propaganda about the campaign "Vietnamese people use Vietnamese goods"; thereby, spreading Vietnamese brands among consumers; promoting domestic production, solving jobs and income for workers in localities.

Comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh acknowledged SABECO's investment efforts in Nghe An and wished to improve efficiency in the coming time.

Speaking at the meeting, Comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh highly appreciated the investments of SABECO Corporation in Nghe An. Based on the actual assessment and analysis of potential, expanding production and business to further improve the investment efficiency of SABECO is feasible. The problem is to strengthen close coordination between enterprises and authorities at all levels, thereby contributing to creating more jobs for workers, contributing more to the budget and social security activities.

Summarizing the opinions at the meeting, comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong affirmed that the Provincial People's Committee will continue to actively accompany investors and enterprises in the province, including SABECO. On that basis, strengthen coordination between the government and enterprises to promote production and business towards sustainable growth.
