Improving the effectiveness of coordination between Xieng Khouang Women's Union - Nghe An

Comrades: Chan Tha Son Phun Suc - Member of the Executive Committee of the Xieng Khouang Provincial Party Committee, Member of the Central Executive Committee of the Lao Women's Union, President of the Xieng Khouang Provincial Women's Union (Lao People's Democratic Republic); Nguyen Thi Quynh Hoa - Member of the Executive Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, President of the Nghe An Provincial Women's Union co-chaired the discussion.

At the seminar, the two sides exchanged important information about the organizational structure, operational experience of the Women's Union and the women's movement of each side.

In recent times, from the special solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Laos, and the two provinces of Nghe An and Xieng Khouang; based on the direction of the Central Women's Unions of the two countries and the Minutes of Cooperation between the Women's Union of Xieng Khouang Province and the Women's Union of Nghe An Province on March 17-20, 2008, the Women's Unions of the two provinces have had many meaningful cooperation programs.

Notable among these are activities to propagate and mobilize cadres, members, women and the community to preserve and develop the traditional friendship and special solidarity between the two countries, the two provinces in general and the Women's Unions of the two provinces in particular. At the same time, laws and regulations related to the border are disseminated so that members and women can understand and implement them.

In addition, the campaign to encourage women living along the border not to migrate freely or violate the territory has been effectively implemented. This contributes to maintaining and protecting border security, building a peaceful, friendly and stable border, while creating conditions for women in the two provinces to develop together.

The Women's Unions of the two provinces have directed grassroots associations sharing the border to regularly exchange culture and arts between the two sides. Sign agreements and support and exchange experiences in the activities of the Association between the Associations of the districts and communes bordering the border; especially in supporting each other in the work of preventing and fighting the Covid 19 epidemic in the past 3 years.

The Vinh City Women's Union has also implemented many activities to support and help Lao students studying at universities in Vinh City in recent years.

On the basis of the spirit of cooperation, friendship, special solidarity and mutual respect, mutual support and development, Nghe An Provincial Women's Union and Xieng Khouang Provincial Women's Union discussed, agreed and signed a cooperation agreement with many cooperation contents for the period 2023-2027.

The focus of the cooperation content emphasizes strengthening coordination and implementing well the contents of the cooperation agreement between the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union and the Central Committee of the Lao Women's Union under the authority of the provincial level. At the same time, directing women's unions at all levels to promote activities and propaganda for female cadres and members to protect and develop the friendly relationship, good traditions, and special solidarity between the two peoples of Vietnam and Laos in general; the Women's Union of Nghe An province and the Women's Union of Xieng Khouang province in particular.

The two sides will coordinate with relevant sectors to continue raising awareness and taking action to implement the provisions and stipulations in treaties, decrees of the Government, border regulations of Vietnam - Laos, decrees on border lines, border markers, and conventions on border management regulations of Vietnam - Laos.

At the same time, strengthen advocacy, support and encouragement for members and women to develop the economy, generate income, eliminate hunger and reduce poverty; build prosperous, progressive, happy and civilized families; raise awareness and understanding of the fight against human trafficking, unsafe migration, domestic violence prevention, child marriage prevention and drug prevention for members and women.

In particular, it is necessary to direct the Women's Union at all levels in border areas to increase meetings, cultural exchanges, holidays and Tet... to strengthen the connection and friendship between the two sides.

On this occasion, the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee and the Provincial Women's Union presented 2 sets of computers and 2 printers to the Xieng Khouang Provincial Women's Union. The Xieng Khouang Women's Union also presented meaningful gifts to the Nghe An Women's Union.
