Improving the effectiveness of Party building propaganda of local Party Newspapers

(Baonghean.vn) - That was the theme of the Central and Central Highlands Party Newspaper Conference (6th time - Round IV) held on the morning of May 6 in Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh Province.

Attending the workshop were leaders of 19 Party Newspapers in the region; leaders of Binh Dinh province, representatives of the Ministry of Information and Communications, and the Vietnam Journalists Association.

Comrade Nguyen Gio, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, on behalf of the leaders of Binh Dinh province, delivered a welcome speech to the leaders and reporters of newspapers attending the Workshop.

Opening the workshop, journalist Luu Ngoc Minh, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Binh Dinh Newspaper, in his introduction and discussions at the workshop, stated clearly: propaganda work on Party building in local Party newspapers has an extremely important position, is a regular task, and deeply demonstrates the fighting spirit on the ideological front of local Party newspapers. The Party newspaper system in each locality has devoted an appropriate proportion, invested human resources and intelligence to propaganda on Party building, focusing on perfecting reporters and contributors to write about Party building. With the motto "building is the main thing", each newspaper has its own creative ways of both highlighting its columns and pages and creating appeal to readers.

However, at the workshop, delegates also pointed out that the propaganda work on Party building still has difficulties. Articles on Party building still lack sharpness, are not very convincing, and have limited fighting spirit. There are too few reporters who write correctly, accurately, and well about Party building work. Articles often provide one-way information, are monotonous, and rigid. Building a team of reporters and collaborators specializing in writing about Party building is still a difficulty for newspapers.

Therefore, the workshop also agreed on a number of solutions to improve the effectiveness of Party building propaganda, which requires cadres and reporters to first have a strong will, enthusiasm, and dedication to the Party; at the same time, they must be people with good skills, knowledge, and deep understanding of the Party to be able to create vivid, attractive press works that attract the public on the topic of Party building. Reporters and collaborators must research the basis, closely follow the reality of life; and reflect the opinions of the people when participating in Party building. On the other hand, there must be incentives in terms of means of practice, royalties, and create conditions for reporters to access information in the fastest, most accurate, and most complete way.

The Central and Central Highlands Party Newspaper Workshop is an opportunity for leaders, reporters and editors of local Party Newspaper agencies to discuss, exchange, learn from experiences, and find specific and practical solutions, contributing to improving the quality and combativeness of press works on the field of Party building as well as the practical capacity of journalists in general and reporters specializing in writing about the field of Party building in particular.

Journalist Do Nguyen Hung, Editor-in-Chief of Binh Dinh Newspaper, concluded at the workshop that he hoped that newspaper leaders should regularly exchange information and learn from experiences to improve the effectiveness of propaganda work on Party building in local Party newspapers.

Concluding the workshop, journalist Do Nguyen Hung, Editor-in-Chief of Binh Dinh Newspaper, wanted leaders and reporters of newspapers to use the workshop to learn and apply the successful experiences of colleagues from other newspapers to effectively apply them in propaganda work on Party building. From there, propaganda on Party building will be promoted, becoming a "specialty" of local Party Newspapers, actively contributing to the implementation of political tasks in each locality.

At the Conference, the organizing committee also agreed to award the hosting flag to Khanh Hoa Newspaper in 2017.
