Improving seafood preservation knowledge for offshore fishermen
((Baonghean.vn) - On November 25, in Vinh City, the National Agricultural Extension Center in collaboration with the Nghe An Provincial Agricultural Extension Center opened a training course on technological processes for preserving products on offshore fishing vessels for fishermen in coastal districts of Nghe An.
During November 25-27, 40 fishermen were informed by lecturers from the National Agricultural Extension Center about the need to convert seafood preservation technology on board, the advantages and investment rates of new preservation technology.

Nowadays, due to the increasing size of fishing equipment, the technology and fishing process have fundamentally changed from vertical to horizontal probing. To increase the value of the catch, the preservation technology must be changed accordingly.
Accordingly, fishermen have switched from using fish preservation technology using foam boxes or wooden crates to making fish preservation cells using PU Foam plastic shells, which are harder and thicker, so the time and quality of seafood preservation is much higher, helping fishermen save costs...

In addition to training to familiarize themselves with new technological processes, fishermen also visited a model of investment in new technology storage tanks built by some fishermen according to Decree 67/CP in Nghi Thiet commune, Nghi Loc district.
