(Baonghean.vn) - Irrigation systems play an important role not only in supplying water to urban, rural and agricultural areas but also in preventing negative phenomena of climate change, floods and saltwater intrusion. In recent years, despite continuous construction and upgrading, Nghe An's irrigation system still faces many limitations and challenges.
Nghe An has two large irrigation systems, including the Northern irrigation system and the Southern irrigation system, with 1,061 large and small dams, 427 weirs, 701 electric pumping stations, 15 large drainage lines, and hundreds of irrigation and drainage culverts. The irrigation system plays an important role not only in supplying water to urban, rural and agricultural areas but also in helping to prevent negative phenomena of climate change, floods and saltwater intrusion. In recent years, despite being constantly built and improved, Nghe An's irrigation system still has many limitations.
