According to plan, NASA will simultaneously launch two research rockets into the atmosphere to create artificial clouds on March 3 in Alaska, between 7 p.m. and midnight (local time).
These two research rockets will provide unprecedented vertical research tools to help NASA understand the altitude dependence of auroral dimming processes.
The research rocket built to create artificial clouds is equipped with trimethoprime. This substance will react with oxygen in the atmosphere to create white clouds, which will be the basis for scientists to observe the auroral winds.
