According to the plan, NASA will simultaneously launch two research rockets into the atmosphere to create artificial clouds on March 3 in Alaska, between 7:00 p.m. and midnight (local time).
These two research rockets will provide unprecedented vertical research tools to help NASA understand the altitude dependence of the aurora's internal dimming processes.
The research rocket built to create artificial clouds is equipped with trimethul aluminum. This substance will react with oxygen in the atmosphere to create white clouds, which are the basis for scientists to observe the aurora winds.
