NATO needs to be ready for bad news from Ukraine
(Baonghean.vn) - That was the statement of NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg. He also said that the important thing now is to increase ammunition production.

According to Russia's TASS news agency reported on December 3, in an interview with ARD TV channel on December 2 (local time), Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that NATO needs to be ready to receive bad news from Ukraine.
Asked if he feared that the situation in Ukraine would worsen in the future, he replied: “We are also ready for bad news. Wars develop in stages. But we must support Ukraine in good times and in bad times.”
Mr Stoltenberg said it was important to increase ammunition production, while admitting that NATO countries could not meet the growing demand for it. He said Ukraine was in a “critical situation” but declined to suggest what Kiev should do.
“I will leave these difficult decisions to the Ukrainian people and the military commanders,” Mr Stoltenberg said.
He also commented on the challenges facing the European defence industry. “One of the issues we need to address is the fragmentation of the European defence industry,” he said.
The NATO chief said it was in Europe’s interests and good for jobs in the industry. He said it was important not to let ammunition prices rise when demand was already high.
Mr Stoltenberg said there had been no significant developments on the battlefield in the past few months. He declined to speculate on what might happen next.
“War is unpredictable,” the official said. “But we know that the more we support Ukraine, the quicker the war will end.”
