The meeting was attended by Lieutenant General Mykola Oleshchuk, commander of the Ukrainian Air Force, and Deputy Interior Minister Oleksii Serhieiev, from the Ukrainian side. The NATO meeting was held at the request of Ukraine.

In a statement after the meeting, NATO's secretary general added that member states had outlined plans to provide "billions of euros in additional capabilities" to Ukraine by 2024.

“In the context of Moscow's increased attacks on Ukrainian cities and civilians, NATO allies will strengthen Ukraine's air defense system,” Mr. Stoltenberg affirmed. Through the military alliance, member countries will provide up to 1,000 Patriot air defense missiles to supplement the stockpile, while continuing to support Ukraine's air defense system.
