16 elementary school students in Vinh City were stung by bees while throwing mangoes and had to be hospitalized for emergency treatment.
(Baonghean.vn) - This morning, during recess, a group of students at Nghi Phu Primary School were accidentally attacked by a beehive, causing many students to be hospitalized.
Information from 115 General Hospital said that this morning at around 9:30, the hospital received 6 patients who were students of Nghi Phu Primary School who were stung by bees with many swollen, red spots, and the patients were in a lot of pain.
Then, at around 11am, 10 more patients were admitted to the hospital with similar conditions. Currently, 1 child has been discharged. However, 6 children with signs of anaphylactic shock are being treated in the Intensive Care Unit, 7 children are in the Internal Medicine Department and 2 children are in the Emergency Department.

Immediately after receiving the patient stung by a bee, doctors and nurses at Nghe An General Hospital 115 injected painkillers and monitored for shock and allergies. According to the examination, the children werebee stingat levels 1 and 2. Currently, the students are being treated by doctors according to the Ministry of Health's protocol.
Discussing further about this incident, Ms. Hoang Thi Phuong Thao - Head of the Department of Education and Training said: This incident happened at Nghi Phu Primary School and was a rare event. The reason was that in the school yard there was a mango tree with many fruits. During recess, some students used their sandals to throw the mangoes up to the tree, causing them to fall down, and a beehive accidentally flew out and stung the students (before that, neither the school nor the students knew there was a beehive on the mango tree).

While the 6 students were hospitalized, at noon, after finishing lunch, some naughty students continued to play with the mango tree and were stung by bees. Currently, the Department of Education and Training has also sent officers to inspect and direct the school to be on duty to monitor the health of the students and reassure parents and students.
After the incident, Nghi Phu 1 Primary School restricted students from playing in the school yard and hired people to deal with the beehive to ensure student safety.
