You should learn carefully about probiotic strains before using them.
What are probiotics, which types are good for children, how long should they be used, what are their applications in treating digestive diseases, and do all probiotics have the same effects? These are the questions raised at the Workshop on the Effectiveness of Probiotics on Children's Nutrition, Immunity and Digestion, organized by the Vietnam Institute of Applied Medicine in August 2015.
Probiotics are live bacteria that are beneficial to the intestines. When used in appropriate amounts, they are beneficial to human health (According to FAO-WHO). Probiotics have been used for a long time in many cases such as: Treatment of diarrhea caused by gastroenteritis, Treatment and prevention of diarrhea caused by antibiotics, Prevention of recurrent diarrhea caused by Clostridium difficile, Treatment of abdominal cramps in children...
Prof. Dr. Nguyen Gia Khanh (Chairman of the Vietnam Pediatric Association) said, “Currently, there are many different strains of probiotics, however, not all types are the same, each strain has a separate effect and not all probiotics have the same effect, to conclude the effect of a probiotic strain must be through actual treatment or clinical testing”. In fact, there are many probiotic preparations on the market today, but not all products meet the standards for choosing a probiotic strain. Therefore, before choosing probiotics, experts also recommend that consumers should carefully research the probiotic strain used in order to use it for the right purpose.

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Gia Khanh chaired the workshop "Effectiveness of Probiotics on nutritional, immune and digestive status of children" |
In this workshop, Dr. Phan Bich Nga (Head of the Department of Nutrition Examination and Consulting - National Institute of Nutrition) also presented a scientific report on the effectiveness of Bio-acimin Gold probiotic supplementation on the nutritional, digestive and immune status of malnourished children 6-23 months old. The research results confirmed that 3 strains of beneficial bacteria (Lactobacillus acidophiluc, Bacillus subtilis, Streptococus faecalis) and other ingredients in the product Bio-acimin Gold have the following effects:
- Reduces symptoms of digestive disorders such as: Diarrhea, bloating, indigestion, constipation...
- Significantly improves children's anorexia after 2 weeks

Dr. Phan Bich Nga reports at the conference
Here, many questions were also raised by experts about the origin and copyright of probiotic strains when included in the Bio-acimin Gold product. From the manufacturer's side, Dr. Nguyen Quoc Dung (Director of Me Linh Pharmaceutical Company) said, "The 3 strains of probiotics in the Bio-acimin Gold product are processed and propagated at the microbial bank of the Vietnam Institute of Medicine and Applications. Here, the cultivation process and longevity monitoring are carried out very strictly to ensure the best gene source. These 3 strains of yeast have also been announced and licensed by the Ministry of Health before we put them into production."
The discussion at the workshop also showed that the 3 strains of probiotics in the Bio-acimin Gold product have achieved the 7S principle when choosing Probiotics as proposed by international organizations, including:
Source:Clear origin and isolated from humans
Strain:Genetically coded
Strength:Sufficient dose, sufficient quantity to achieve the effect
Stability:Stable and unaffected by climate and transportation
Survival:High survival ability in the digestive tract (this is considered an important factor when choosing Probiotic).
Scientific studies:There are clinical studies and actual treatment in humans
Standards:Microbial strains meet international standards
At the end of the workshop, experts all agreed and highly appreciated the product Bio-acimin Gold. This is the first probiotic product in Vietnam to be clinically tested in a systematic manner and recommended for use in young children.
The product is not a medicine and cannot replace medicine.
