(Baonghean)In 1998, Minh Tien village (Chau Hanh commune, Quy Chau district) was one of the first units in Quy Chau district to be recognized as a Cultural Village. Over the years, along with efforts to focus on economic development, the Party branch, government, and people of Minh Tien village have also actively implemented the "National Unity Movement for Building a Culturally Rich Life" in conjunction with the task of building new rural areas.
Minh Tien village currently has over 147 households with more than 663 people, comprising both Kinh and Thai ethnic groups. Recognizing agricultural economic development as the key focus, the officials and people of Minh Tien village have actively engaged in labor and production, transforming the structure of crops and livestock. Many families have emerged as successful producers and breeders. Particularly in recent years, many households have boldly developed integrated economic models. A prime example is the family of Mr. Quan Vi Sinh. After returning to the village after his military service, his family faced many difficulties. Through local training courses, he and his wife boldly reclaimed land along streams and rivers to dig ponds for fish farming, plant corn and sugarcane, and cultivate rice. Each year, the family harvests approximately 30 tons of sugarcane, 1 ton of corn, and 2.5 tons of rice. In addition, he also raises breeding pigs and provides plowing services to other villagers. His family's average annual income ranges from 100 to 150 million VND.

In Minh Tien village today, the makeshift thatched houses have been replaced by multi-story buildings, and the village roads and alleys have been paved with concrete, eliminating the muddy conditions of the past. Social evils and outdated customs have been pushed back, and the people's lives are improving. In 2012, the average per capita income in the village reached over 12 million VND; 100% of households have audio-visual equipment and spacious tiled houses, and security and order are maintained. The villagers always uphold the awareness of maintaining hygiene, and there is no longer any indiscriminate littering in public places. Cultural and sports activities are consistently maintained, thereby preserving and promoting the traditional cultural identity of the Thai people. To date, the entire village has 101 households that have achieved the title of "Cultural Family," and 100% of children of school age attend school.
Proud of the achievements of Minh Tien village, Mr. Nguyen Sy Tri, Secretary of the village Party branch, said: "Maintaining the title of Cultural Village for 15 years is the result of the high determination and consensus of the Party members and people in building and preserving cultural life in the residential area. To this day, every resident of Minh Tien village is proud to have contributed a small part to the village's overall achievements. The village has always been a leading unit of Chau Hanh commune in the fields of economy, culture, society, and political security, and has received many commendations and certificates from the province and district in various emulation movements."
