The beauty of the windows in a Thai stilt house.

The windows of a Thai stilt house, a seemingly ordinary part of the house, are often overlooked. The significant aspect lies in its philosophy of life. A warm and peaceful home cannot possibly lack one of its essential elements: "father, mother, and child." This represents the aspirations, dreams, and desires for happiness of humankind.
What inspired the Thai people to create windows with all the elements of "father, mother, and child"? According to author Phan Ngoc Khue, it was the banana tree that inspired the ancient Thai people. The ancient Thais lived in the mountains and forests, eating banana blossoms and fruit, and using banana leaves to roof their huts and houses. They considered the banana tree to be their "spirit tree" in Muong Then... Later, as society developed and life improved, when building houses, people designed windows with all the elements of "father, mother, and child" (*).
