According to RT news agency, in an interview with GB News on March 19, Republican candidate Donald Trump emphasized that thanks to the threat of stripping the US of its protection against "defaulters", the NATO military alliance has become stronger, and countries have begun to treat the US more fairly.

GB News said: "If he returns to the White House, Donald Trump pledges that the US will 100% stay in NATO if European countries start paying their dues honestly as members of the alliance." In an exclusive interview, the former US President once again pointed out that the European Union (EU) is profiting from the US. Therefore, the EU should provide military support along with the US. Mr. Trump believes that is more important.

Former President Trump stressed that the US should pay its share, not the other members. According to Mr. Trump, the US currently pays 90% of the NATO budget, even 100%.

In the interview, the Republican candidate stressed that his past statements have made the alliance stronger, and other allies have begun to treat the United States more fairly.

Previously, candidate Donald Trump repeatedly criticized the European Union for not fulfilling its financial obligations, and warned that if so, the US would not protect its allies in case of a threat from Russia./.
