US President Donald Trump announced the cancellation of peace talks with Taliban leaders on September 8 after the insurgent group admitted to being behind bombings in Kabul. The decision to cancel a secret meeting with "important leaders" of the Afghan insurgent group at Camp David, Maryland, was announced by Trump shortly after the Taliban claimed responsibility for a series of suicide bombings in the capital Kabul last week that killed 12 people, including an American soldier.
"It is not in the interest of the history of Afghanistan to see the Taliban intensify its violence," General Kenneth McKenzie, commander of the US Central Command, told reporters during a visit to Pakistan yesterday. Many legal experts in the UK have warned that Prime Minister Boris Johnson will be forced to resign and risk jail if he refuses to implement the law to prevent a no-deal Brexit that has just been passed by the British Parliament. This assessment was made by a group of leading legal experts in the UK on September 7, after receiving a request for legal advice from the opposition Labour Party.
According to these experts, immediately after being approved by the Queen of England, the law on preventing no-deal Brexit, which was passed by the British Parliament last weekend, will officially come into effect on September 9. Therefore, if Mr. Boris Johnson does not comply with this law, the British Court will have the right to issue a judgment forcing Mr. Boris Johnson to resign and imprison him.
