Nghèn Junction is the meeting point of QNational Highway 1Aand the inter-communal road from Can Loc district through Khanh Loc to Dong Loc and Trung Loc. This is the center of a cluster of historical sites in a locality rich in patriotic and revolutionary traditions. In the past, Nghen Crossroads belonged to Trao Nha village, after the revolution it was renamed Dai Loc, Can Loc district. Since 1984, a part of Dai Loc commune has been separated to form Nghen town.

From May 1930 to July 1931, Nghèn Crossroads was the site of many large demonstrations. Can Lộc District witnessed over 40 demonstrations at the district and commune levels, with thousands of participants. On August 1, 1930, the masses from Hạ Can and Thượng Can divided into several groups and marched towards the district headquarters, shouting slogans:
- To overthrow imperialism and the feudal Southern Dynasty.
- Reduce taxes to support Soviet Russia.
Faced with such overwhelming pressure, District Chief Tran Manh Dan had to go to Nghen Bridge to sign the demands, but he did not comply. On the morning of September 7, 1930, more than 2,000 farmers from Ha Can area marched to the district headquarters. This time, the District Chief and his officials fled, and the crowd stormed the district office, smashing it and burning documents.
On December 12, 1930, more than 5,000 people from various areas of the district, carrying banners and slogans, marched to the district headquarters to protest repression and terror, demanding a reduction in taxes and the implementation of civil and democratic rights. The soldiers opened fire on the procession.protestIt killed 42 people and injured hundreds.
Many revolutionary cadres bravely sacrificed their lives, such as: Vo Que, Pham Thi Dung, Phan Can, Ho Ngoc Tang, Thanh Son, Nguyen Nhan...
The Nghèn intersection is located on National Highway 1A, about 300 meters from the Nghèn bridge. During the bombing campaign, the US dropped nearly 17,000 bombs of various types and thousands of artillery shells and missiles on this area. The air defense units of the militia and local troops fought bravely, shooting down 3 enemy aircraft.
The historical site at Nghèn Crossroads is currently being developed into a large-scale and impressive memorial complex commemorating the 1930-1931 movement.
