Russia is powerless to prevent Ukraine from selling S-300 to the US
According to Defense Blog, Russia was powerless to prevent the 36D6M1-1 radar deal between Ukraine and the US customer.
The US Defense Contract Management Agency has just received the 36D6M1-1 3D mobile radar system from a Ukrainian defense company.
This mobile radar system has been used in many variants of the Russian S-300 air defense system and is in service with the air defense forces of many countries such as Russia, China, Iran and a number of other customers operating the S-300.

Talking about the reason why the US made this deal, experts said that the US military will most likely study the system it just purchased from Ukraine to use it as a device to simulate enemy troops in training activities.
Notably, before the US and Ukraine successfully completed the deal, the Russian-linked defense company LLC KIT tried to block the deal by alleging that the Ukrainian manufacturer Iskra had not paid royalties to be able to use the system's patent.
However, Iskra said that LLC KIT is in fact a ghost company and has nothing to do with the activities of the Ukrainian defense complex. It is known that before this purchase, Kiev and Washington also made Moscow feel the feeling of having to stand by and watch the deal of Ukraine selling 2 Su-27s to the US.
Russian military sources revealed that Ukraine secretly provided two Su-27 fighters with serial numbers 31 and 32 to a private American company for the purpose of "aeronautical engineering research".
Although the contract was to supply a private company, the deal was still very confusing. Shortly after being brought to the US, the company that bought the two Sukhoi Su-27s declared bankruptcy. The two Su-27s were sold to a mysterious partner for $50 million each.
This partner was never revealed, but it is not difficult to realize that it could be the US military.
Because for the US, if they bought back the Su-27, they would certainly face a lot of opposition from Russia - the place that manufactured the Su-27. Therefore, they used a private company to buy it, then transfer it back in a staged deal.
With the help of Ukraine, the Americans have “almost completely digested” the technical and tactical features of this top Russian fighter. In particular, the Americans can use the Su-27 to fight against each other and train pilots for combat operations in Europe.
A real Su-27 would still be a better simulation than the F/A-18 or F-15 planes that impersonate Russian aircraft for US Air Force and Navy pilots to operate, an American pilot admitted.
Although they have studied the Su-27 fighter quite thoroughly, in many real confrontations during combat exercises, the Americans still cannot understand why the Su-27 can do what the Air and Navy fighters of this country cannot.
