Russia accused of airstrikes killing 38 civilians in Syria
AFP reported that on October 4, the Russian military carried out an airstrike that killed 38 people. The airstrike took place as these people tried to cross the Euphrates River to escape fighting in the eastern Syrian province of Deir Ezzor.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said nine children were among the dead.
The civilians used rafts to try to cross the Euphrates River, fleeing areas where the Russian-backed Syrian army is fighting the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS).
Russia has not commented on this accusation./
