Russia blocks Ukraine's UAV attack on Crimea
Russian forces have thwarted an aerial attack on the Crimean Peninsula, neutralizing a total of 10 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), the Russian Defense Ministry said on March 1.
In a statement, the Russian Defense Ministry said Russian forces had thwarted a Ukrainian attempt to carry out a drone attack on targets in the Crimean Peninsula.

Six Ukrainian attack UAVs were shot down by Russian air defense systems, while four others were disabled by electronic jamming devices. There were no casualties or damage on the ground.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, in addition to these UAVs, on February 28, the Russian military destroyed 15 Ukrainian UAVs in the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions, Donetsk, Lugansk and Kharkiv.

The raid on Crimea came after an unidentified drone crashed near a gas compressor station near the city of Kolomna in the Moscow region on February 28. The drone was likely aimed at a civilian infrastructure facility, but failed to hit its target, according to Governor Andrey Vorobyov.
On the same day, the Russian Defense Ministry said that Ukraine attempted to carry out a UAV attack on civilian facilities in the southern Krasnodar region and the Republic of Adygea. However, two UAVs were neutralized./.
