Russia believes NATO wants to open a second front against Moscow in Transcaucasia
(Baonghean.vn) - Official spokeswoman of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova said that NATO wants to open a second front against Russia in Transcaucasia.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that NATO has chosen a new direction to confront Russia.
“NATO has a maximum task, which is to open a second front in Transcaucasia against Russia, and in general wants to ‘set fire’ to the region once again,” said Maria Zakharova.
According to Ms. Zakharova, this military alliance is not satisfied with Russia's policy to stabilize the region.
Earlier, on March 19, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg visited Yerevan and called on Armenia and Azerbaijan to sign an agreement "that will pave the way for normalizing relations between the countries."
Meanwhile, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has warned of the risk of being attacked by Azerbaijan if a compromise is not reached on returning some Azerbaijani territories that Armenia has controlled since the 1990s.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan called for quick efforts to demarcate the border with neighboring Azerbaijan to avoid a new conflict, "which could break out over the weekend".
He noted that the border demarcation should be based on mutual recognition of the territorial integrity of Armenia and Azerbaijan based on the former Soviet map from 1991, when both were part of the Soviet Union.
Regarding these issues, the press secretary of the Russian President, Dmitry Peskov, said that NATO's efforts to expand its influence are unlikely to create more stability in the Caucasus region./.
