Russia can stop the threat of weapons in space from the ground
If other countries put weapons into space, Russia will not necessarily have to respond, as it is entirely possible to destroy these objects from the ground in case of threat, said a member of the Federation Council's defense committee, Franz Klintsevich.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Moscow will respond in kind to the US decision on the INF Treaty.
"As for the plans of some countries to put weapons in space, an equivalent response is absolutely unnecessary, although this measure is not excluded. All these space objects will be within our sight from Earth, with a guarantee of complete destruction," Klintsevich said.
According to the senator, Russia's withdrawal from the INF is a "completely natural reaction" to the US decision to suspend its participation in the treaty.
“Of course, he did not talk about all our plans, but this is enough to understand: the United States is taking a rash step without ensuring its safety. For example, the Poseidon nuclear unmanned submarine, which is now unique in the world, is almost ready for commissioning. This weapon has tremendous destructive power and I hope to God it will never be used,” the Russian lawmaker said.
