Russia provides list of diplomats who will meet Yulia Skripal
(Baonghean.vn) - The Russian Foreign Ministry provided the UK with a list of Russian consular officials ready to meet directly with Yulia - the daughter of former double agent Sergei Skripal, the victim of the nerve agent attack in Salisbury.

Immediately after the press conference in London on April 5, the Russian Embassy received an urgent notice from the British Foreign Office, stating that Yulia Skripal had regained consciousness, and the Russian Embassy's request for access had been forwarded to Yulia Skripal. Given Yulia's current health condition, the Russian Embassy is ready to conduct the contact, immediately after receiving Yulia's approval.
“Upon receiving information about Yulia Skripal’s situation, we immediately provided the names and contact details of consular officials who are ready to travel to Salisbury to meet Yulia immediately after receiving consent,” the press secretary of the Russian Embassy said.
Accordingly, the Russian side also hopes that the UK will not delay and provide full information, especially Yulia's answer, as soon as possible.
The Russian Embassy also added that the British Foreign Office refused to inform the Russian Embassy about Sergei Skripal's health condition on the grounds that the former spy is considered a British subject, even though Mr. Skripal holds Russian nationality and has all the rights and obligations of a Russian citizen.
In this regard, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov accused Britain of “throwing away all proper rules” and “going too far” by refusing to let Russian officials inform him about his health condition and access Skripal.
“Russia has nothing to do with the Skripal poisoning, but we are very concerned – perhaps more than anyone else – about the fate of our citizens,” Lavrov stressed, expressing hope that spy Sergei Skripal will also recover soon like his daughter.
