At the BIDEC-2017 international defense exhibition, Russia brought a special version of the T-90S tank to attract Middle Eastern customers, especially Bahrain.

Sputnik news agency has just published images at BIDEC-2017 in Bahrain. One of the members participating in this exhibition is the Russian company Rosoboronexport. Russian weapons received considerable attention from visitors, especially the host country Bahrain.

According to the published images, Russia brought to Bahrain the T-90S tank line with some changes compared to the original. Specifically, looking at the exterior, it is easy to see that the tank at the exhibition has been equipped with a pair of infrared lights similar to the T-90A - something that was previously not available on the T-90S.

In addition, the armor system around the turret has also been redesigned to look quite strange. In particular, the pair of high antennas that are unique to the T-90S are also missing. However, according to Rosoboronexport, these antennas have been shortened to make the vehicle more mobile during combat.

The changes have brought significant power to the T-90S because according to the manufacturer's introduction at BIDEC-2017, the T-90S tank possesses superior features compared to the world's leading Western tanks today, even the US Abrams main battle tank.

The T-90S has many advantages when compared to the Abrams such as being 10 tons lighter, high flexibility... In particular, the biggest advantage of the T-90S tank is that it possesses the world's leading multi-layered armor and defense system.

The first is the TShU-1-7 Shtora-1. This system has the effect of interfering with the semi-automatic aiming control of the guidance system mounted on anti-tank missiles. Next is the system that interferes with laser detectors and enemy target designators through sensors, OTShU-1-7 interference lights and 12 smoke grenade launchers...

Along with the excellent defense system is the impressive firepower system of the T-90S with the main weapon being the 125 mm 2A46 smoothbore gun with an automatic loading system with 22 ready bullets.

In addition to standard ammunition, the T-90S can also launch AT-11 Sniper anti-tank missiles through the barrel to destroy enemies from a distance of up to 5,000 m, targets including tanks with explosive reactive armor and low-flying helicopters.

To ensure the most effective operation of the defense and attack systems on the battlefield, the T-90S tank is equipped with a fire control system with day-night sights, stabilizers and thermal imaging sights to enhance its ability to operate at night and in bad weather conditions.

Along with that is a complex composite armor system with explosive reactive armor... All of these advanced equipment create a line of tanks with the leading attack and defense power today.

Before the BIDEC-2017 Exhibition, at the meeting in Sochi (Russia), Russian President Putin and King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa also showed their close relationship by exchanging gifts with each other.

The Kremlin chief gave the King a 4-year-old racehorse, and the King of Bahrain presented Putin with a Damascus steel sword with a handle made of precious metal. In fact, the Gulf states are famous for their passion for horses, and the King of Bahrain is especially passionate about rare horses.

He even postponed his meeting with US President Barack Obama in early 2016 to attend a horse show in England with Queen Elizabeth II. Therefore, the Russian leader's gift was not too difficult to find, and showed his sincerity and special attention to the King of Bahrain.

According to some experts, Russia's showing of affection and using a specially designed version of the T-90S to offer to Bahrain and Middle Eastern customers shows Moscow's calculating policy towards this region.

This shows that Moscow needs more countries in the region to support the fight against terrorism and further, Russia wants to reduce US influence in the Middle East.
