Russia welcomes soldiers back from Syria

The Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation has published a video recording the welcoming in Makhachkala of military police returning from Syria.

It is known that the battalion of the Southern Military District of Russia, returning from Syria, has arrived at its permanent deployment station.

Russian military police units were sent to Syria in December 2016 to maintain security in areas of escalation. It should be noted that all military police units have escorted about 1,700 humanitarian convoys carrying food and medical supplies to Syria.

The soldiers were welcomed back to their homeland by leaders of the Russian Ministry of Defense, the Southern Military District, the leadership of the republic, colleagues, representatives of veterans and social organizations, relatives and friends.
