The purpose of the exercises is to test combat readiness and operational coordination between fleets when carrying out long-distance missions.
Russian warships are preparing to enter a phase of exercises aimed at countering surprise, lightning-fast attacks from the air and sea, including terrorist and pirate attacks.
The Black Sea exercise aimed to coordinate actions between naval and air forces to counter and neutralize attacks by missile-carrying patrol boats.
Meanwhile, the two landing ships Kaliningrad and Alexander Shabalin, after receiving weapons and marines at the port of Novorossisk on January 20, will today train marines to land in a rugged area in the southwestern Caucasus Sea.
Meanwhile, the command for the two exercises has been moved to the missile cruiser Moscow of the Black Sea Fleet, which is currently present in the Mediterranean region.
Equipped with modern communication and telecommunication equipment, including space communication devices, the cruiser Moscow ensures timely and effective command of exercises based on reports and orders from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
