Russia calls on the US to destroy its chemical weapons stockpile
(Baonghean.vn) - The Russian Embassy in Washington called on the US to destroy its chemical weapons stockpile, recalling that Moscow had eliminated its own stockpile several years ago.
This was stated in a commentary posted on the Telegram channel of the Russian diplomatic mission. The post of the Russian Embassy reads: "The media here continue to repeat dirty accusations that Russia violates the chemical weapons convention. Then officials and journalists continue to baselessly assert that we still have chemical weapons and plan to use them in Ukraine."

The article stressed that Russia had completely destroyed its chemical weapons in 2017, a fact confirmed by the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW).
“The United States, not Russia, is the only country that is a party to the Chemical Weapons Convention but has not yet eliminated its stockpiles of battlefield agents. It is absolutely certain that Washington has the technical capacity and financial resources to demilitarize its chemical stockpiles,” the commentary said.
The Russian Embassy called on the American public to consider why Washington delayed eliminating its national chemical weapons stockpile and why other countries were able to undertake this task in their own countries./.
