Russia claims to know clearly the military plots of the US and the West.
(Baonghean.vn) - Moscow knows what military moves Washington and its Western allies may be planning against Russia, but the country is well protected, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on July 30, according to RT.

“We are sure to be aware of the plans that the militaries of the United States and other Western countries are hatching regarding the Russian Federation,” Lavrov told delegates attending a Russian youth education forum held in the Vladimir region, some 200 kilometers from Moscow.
The United States has been actively deploying air defense systems around the world, including right at Russia's doorstep, in the Baltic states, and Japan. However, the senior Russian diplomat asserted that the country should not worry "no matter what happens in the world", because its security is guaranteed. In his speech, Mr. Lavrov mentioned President Vladimir Putin and new developments in the Russian Army.
Also according to RT, Tokyo is planning to spend about 4.2 billion USD over the next 30 years to install and operate US radar systems on the new Aegis Ashore ground-based missile defense system.
Although Japan insists the systems are meant to defend against North Korean missile threats, Russia has repeatedly objected to their deployment, calling it “disproportionate” and potentially undermining “strategic stability in the North Pacific region.” In 2017, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said the presence of these systems on Russia’s eastern borders was “something we definitely cannot ignore in our military planning.”
Lavrov also mentioned Washington’s apparent unwillingness to cooperate with the rest of the world in space exploration. Accordingly, while Europe and developed countries are now ready to discuss the draft treaty banning space weapons initiated by Russia and China, the US is the only country that opposes this proposal.
According to RT, the US has begun to consider the militarization of space. In June, US President Donald Trump ordered the establishment of the Space Force as the sixth branch of the US military, asserting that “American space dominance” should begin. Last week, the US House of Representatives passed the $716 billion National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for next year. Among the provisions of this law, the content requires the Pentagon to develop a “space warfighting policy” by the end of March 2019.
